Henry Alan had to wake up 3.30 a.m. daily to make his way to school in Singapore.
It was physically draining to travel daily from Malaysia to Singapore even for adults.
His parents with Henry had made the decision to ensure a better future for him.
His parents had to come up with more than S$500 monthly for his school fee and transport to enable him to get their preferred education in Singapore.
They felt that Singapore qualifications would enable him to have better future opportunities.
While many Singaporean kids may grumble about waking up at 6.30 am for school, it was a worthwhile sacrifice for Henry to wake up at 3.30 a.m.
It was indeed an extra journey for Henry but we can see his joy of getting educated in Singapore.
